The King dance would be dedicated in the festival of Shiimura shrine. The origin of it is not known, but the contents would be following;

A long time ago, the evil god who damaged some villages appeared frequently. Thus, the evil god was treated to a young and beautiful daughter and Chimaki, the evil god became inattentive and sleep and young god which played the role of a Tengu eradicated him. People were pleased with it and the festival started. After entering at the Edo period, the lion which damages the agricultural products of a village was eradicated, and it is supposed that it was transmitted soon as the event in which it prays for good harvests. The festival starts from Onwatari from shrine to Mikoshi (portable shrine) and travels to village, the Shinto ritual would be held in accommodation, then returns to the shrine finally. The party goes a pike to the head, Sakaki of children, big drums, a big portable shrine, a small portable shrine which Shishigashira put in, a shrine priest, children, a Negi and a host who has chest which Chimaki put in.

The king dance would be held four times, Onwatari, arriving at and leaving from the village and arriving back at the shrine. The two people dance lion dance with drums, and the tengu who has arms after that appears, and eradicates the lion. As compared with dancing of the king seen in the other place of the Wakasa district (especially Mikata), although the clothes and dancing itself are very simple, it is considered the example which tells the tradition of the colony festival since medieval times well.
