People in each ku would get together in every August 10th then, the Mushiokuri starts beating drums. Member of beating drums are student of elementary school or junior high school. People make a line, putting a light to torch, and the line get together to central site (school grounds of Miyagawa elementary school). On the way to the central site, they would sing songs and beating drums. After they complete to come together, the service for insects would be held by Buddhism priest.

This service used to be held in everywhere of Japan, but after the Second World War, as agricultural chemicals have spread, this service has been extinct. In Miyagawa district, it was also extinct for while, but it was reopened in Showa 53 in Kamo ku. Since Showa 56, the central site became the school ground and rhythms of drums were united as the one of Shinbo ku and it became the event. There became the group of preserver in Showa 58 and this ceremony has become the biggest event in this district.

The important ceremony, which has something to do with rice growing, has been luckily kept in Miyagawa district in Obama city. Thinking of the fact that there is only the event which is held in summer, it would be important to think about the agricultural process in summer.
