The wooden statue of Daikokuten

It is the statue of Daikokuten located on the right side of the main hall of Tandaji.

Daikokuten is the incarnation of Siva and faithful as the main object of worship for winning.

In the case of existing old statue, it puts the crown on head, wears armour, has a small bag and a stick and face is angry. However, after the period of South and North dynasties, the form became changed and become popular, as putting the Daikoku hood on head, having a bag on back and a hammer in hand, and small and plump body with smiling face. This statue was made in a transition period.

It is 52.4cm in height and made with Hinoki trees. The height of stage is 24cm and it was made with pine tree.

Its face is angry and it puts a Daikoku hood on head and has a big bag on back. It might have been made in early stage or middle stage of 14th century.
