The wooden statue of Fudomyoo

There is the statue of Fudomyoo in right side of the storing warehouse that builts in height.

Praying and Engraving the statue of Fudomyoo were the most common in the beginning of Heian period, and it was the common style at that time that both eyes are opened widely and fangs go up side. But since the late of Heian period, the common style was changed, one eye would be rather closed, one fang go up and another go down. This statue is also the same style of late of Heian period.

It is 130.7cm in height and made with Hinoki trees. It has a sword in the right hand and a Kensaku in the left hand, there is a fire behind and it faces straight forward. Some part were painted later, but there are still many part painted originally.

The right eye is opened widely, left eye is slightly closed, it has an angry face, one fang goes up and another fang goes down.

It is a thick and strong powered statue and it is presumed to be made in Kamakura period. It is the precious statue which shows the old style and one of the best statues in Obama city, as the registered statue.
