The wooden statue of Bishamonten

There is the statue of Bishamonten left side in the storing warehouse that builts in height.

Bishamonten is one of the protecting gods and the guardian deity of north direction, as one of the Shitenno. In the case of itself alone, it would become the object of worship alone.

It is 135.5cm in height and made with Hinoki tree and Gyokugan were put inside of eyes. Some parts are painted later, but most of them are painted originally.

It has angry eyes and mouth, having a Geki in the right hand and a holy jewel in the left hand.

It armed itself with a armour of animals, hanging the lion's head on belly. The waist was pulled on the left, the right leg was bent, and the left leg has stepped toward one step forcibly. The sleeve of both arms is the form of the ancient style which does not connect the point, and in response to the wind. It stands on devil.

There are some damages, but it is still precious statue. It is presumed to be made in Kamakura period.
