The 1200 piece abbreviation of earthenware of the Yayoi period, and two wooden containers and a gourd was extracted from dispersion of the remains by digging among the Kita river repair work in November, Showa 62 as a result of urgent check investigation.

It was the second investigation in the city, next to Anoushiohama ruins. Although it is the limited range of 40 square meters, it is unusual that such the vast amount relic is discovered.

Ruins are located 1m down of rice field level and about 1.2km from a mouth of a river. Unlike the ruins of a seashore part as Anoushiohama, it is more ruins of an inland. The existence of a colony is presumed in the neighbourhoods and as precious ruins proving the wet-field rice agriculture which was spreading to the Sea of Japan area along the shore having been fixed to here, it was named "the ruins of a riverbed of Kita river".

Although the excavated earthenware is the same as that of the earthenware of the ruins excavation of Shiohama and it is classified into a vase type and a bowl type and so on, there is earthenware which has Chinsen which is the feature of earthenware in the first half and it is a common decoration in Sanin district.

The bottle for steaming rice besides general life containers, such as usual bottles and pots, is according to a use. Moreover, with the wooden vessel, although it regards as the lacquered black cup of zelkova material, or a part of flat hoe, the skin and the seed which tell having grown others and the gourd are excavating.
