As a part of Wakasaichinomiya shrine, these statues were located on Okunoin of Shinganji (later Nemoto Jinguji). The man god wears Ikansokutai, the woman god wears Kouchigi. The statue of man god is 49.1cm in height and the statue of woman god is 50.9cm in height, both are thickly coloured.

It is Nara period when god and Buddha got mixed. It is presumed that making a statue of god started already. The oldest statue of god is Zokeihachiman and two women god kept in Toji and Yakushiji. There is nothing found any statue which made before Heian period.

These statues are small, head and body was made with one piece of tree and hands were made with another piece of tree. This technique is same as the technique for Buddhism statue. The colouring is painted later on lacquer.

The forms are stable, putting cloths widely on stages, but these are rather realistic too much and these are presumed to be made in between the period of North and South dynasties and Muromachi period.

Both statues wear Japanese cloths, unlike Buddhism statue, and simple.
