 It takes 1km south to reach the Mantokuji, Shingonsyu-Koyasan mission, from Wasakahiko shrine. Climbing up stone steps, enter a gate, go south beside a Kyakuden, then you will see a large garden. This garden is one of the best garden in Wakasa province, and many people praise so highly.

 There are white gravel front of the garden, it makes Karesansui style using a foot of mountain, locating 3m long big stone in centre and other stones also located each area, placing well maintained azaleas, pine trees and others between stones. It is a 3000 square meter garden excluding a well maintained mountain. In mountain, there are many old Japanese cedar trees and it is a deep forest.

 This garden was made in Edo period when this temple moved into, and Sakai families, the governor of Wakasa Han, often came and see it.

 Some people say that the big stone is Dainichinyorai and the garden itself is Mandala in Kongo world which shows the sprit of Shingonmikkyo which study wisdom. The beautiful Satsuki flowers pleases people and shows the colour of Dainichinyorai which affirms sensuality and this world.
