 Wakasahime is still the faithful shrine as well as Wakasahiko shrine. It was built in Yoro 5(721) and this forest has never been changed since ever, there are warm district nature broadleaf trees woods in back yard of the shrine, keeping its solemn of the shrine.

 There are trees of Inode and Tabu in right side of the forest, Yabukouji and Sudajii in left side.

 Tall trees, 20 m in height class, are Tabunoki, Sudajii, Kagonoki and Mukunoki, the second taller trees, 15 m in height class, are Yabutsubaki, Yabunikkei and Urajirogashi, the lower trees, 2 m in height class, are Yabutsubaki, Sudajii and Himeaoki in the forest. The ground is covered with fern plants such as Benishida, Fumotoshida, Himekanawarabi, Onikanawarabi, Inode and Oobainomotosou.

 The special feature of the forest is that Kagonoki and Mukunoki are grows wild. Especially Kagonoki is a big tree with a diameter of 90cm and there are small baby trees under the big tree.

 As you climb up the back yard of a mountain, a big tree of Tabu will cover over you, and it remains the nature of ancient times in Wakasa province.

 There is a big tree of Japanese cedar as one thousand years tree of Onyu area, in precincts of the shrine.
