The wooden statue of Bosatsu(Gekkobosatsu) Tada, Obama city Tadaji ( Shingon sect, Koyasan)

It is the "reported" wooden statue of Gekkobosatsu with Nikkobosatsu, the servers of Yakushinyorai, located in the Yakushinyorai hall in Tadaji.

The appearances of Gekkobosatsu and Nikkobosatsu are not formed except having a ring of sun for Nikkobosatsu and a ring of moon for Gekkobosatsu. Thus, no one knows it is correct or not once a temple says it is Gekkobosatsu. There are some parts having been repaired especially in this statue, it is difficult to distinguish it is Gekkoubosatsu.

It is a engraved statue from one tree, 177 cm in height and 144.2 cm in height from a stage to top, and is longer than the height of Nikkobosatsu.

To compare with Nikkobosatsu, Gekkoubosatsu is thin as Nikkobosatsu is plump and friendly. It is presumed to be made same period of Nikkobosatsu.

There is an old style which straight hair, the decoration of chest. The decoration of cloths, word of "U", looks like rather wave and it shows that it comes the Jyougan period.

These three statues of Nikkou, Gekkou and Yakushinyorai tell a long history of Tadaji and one of the most worthy statue in country side.
