There are two types of artifact from an excavation of extinct Taikouji, one is roof-tiles and another one is earthenware. The former would be classified in Nokimaru roof-tile, round roof-tile and flat roof-tile. And the later would be classified in bottles and bowls.
There are 3 pieces of Nokimaru roof-tiles, 2 pieces of round roof-tiles and 4 pieces of flat roof-tiles. All of them are broken pieces. All 3 pieces of Nokimaru roof-tiles are part of roof-tiles and would be classified in two types. One is Kijishiki and another one is Heijyokyoshiki 6255.
There is a texture on concavity of both round and flat roof-tiles and there are some kinds of texture, but these are not enough to classify them.
The roof-tiles of Kijishiki are presumed to be made in last stage of 7th century, and the roof-tile of Heijyokyoshiki 6255 are presumed to be made in the second quarter of 8th century. Thus, these artifacts from an excavation were made between the last stage of 7th century to early half of 8th century and the Taikouji actually existed during the period.
