There is the mountain trail "R3" right side of natural pavement which starts from National Natural House of Wakasawan to the point of peninsula and you would find the bayberry right side of the road after climbing up 180m.
This bayberry is 8m in height and root goes up from the ground. The thickest root comes 1.6m up from the ground and it is a trunk with a circumference of 2.6 meter. It is divided into 11 branches 3m in height from the ground. The diameter of thickest branch is 3.6m.
It is presumed that this tree is the biggest bayberry in Fukui prefecture as a bayberry in Mikatacho was wither and died. Tsuruga peninsula is the north limit of this tree and there are many bayberries in Tagarasu peninsula.
