There is the storehouse which shows peculiar appearance in Shiratori of the western Obama city area. It is said that this storehouse was built by Kenan Kuwabara, who was the doctor of Obama Han, as he thought of anti-fire after the big fire in Obama in Meiji 21(1888) and it is known that it was built in Meiji 22, according to the Tousatsu.
It is the wooden 2 stories storehouse with tile roofing ad it is 9.9m wide and 5.9m deep. It was used as the storehouse of pharmacy, and its structure and other details of inside and side show the traditional storehouse.
However, it is the special feature of this building that bricks are put in some parts, such as around the door, walls. There is a name of brick maker "Shohachi Tsutaya" written on the Tosatsu as well as the carpenter, "Shozaburo". Thus, it is interesting that brick maker was already established as the job in these days.
