The left bank near the mouth of the Minami river which flows into the Obama
bay in the northeast part of the Obama city area, the Obama Saint Luke
church is built.
Although the town in Obama which prospered as a port town and a castle town was an advanced ground also in culture, it was established at last by conduction of a Pagi and Makimu both the American missionary as a blessing church about the Obama Megumi church on March 10, Meiji 20 (1887) in the same year.
The church of brick one-story tile-roofing was completed in April, Meiji 30, and the name was changed to the Saint Luke church. Then, the present church was rebuilt in March, Showa 6, removing the house of god's roof, extending a building to the upper part of the brick make with wooden.
