The Tandaji, which Taicho holy priest was informed from god in Obama and
engraved the statue of Senjyukannon and became himself the founder of the
temple, was the old temple which used to had 12 buildings. It used to belong
to Tendai sect until Muromachi period.
It is 179.4cm in height, made with Kaya tree. It has eleven faces on the head, 42 hands making the signs of Gassyou and Houbachi, and stands on a lotus flower. It is not coloured. It was the superior work made in Kamakura period under the influence of old style of Heian period.
There are some damages, but it still has been kept almost perfect as it has been the hidden statue.
