The Gokurakuji is said to be found in Meiou 1(1492) by Shinmei, the apprentice of Enkai Kokushi who is the origin of Tendai sect Shinsei mission, and it used to be in Susakicho(Taga-ku).
It is 151.5cm in height. It was made with Hinoki tree and painted lacquer on base and covered with gold. However, most of gold has been peeled off.
It is rather masculine; the ridge of the nose is straight. It makes a sign of raigei with hands, familiar styled. It is presumed to be made in the end of Kamakura period.
