The Myokouji is now located on northwest foot of the Nochise mountain where next to the ruins of houses of Takeda family. According to the temple, it was found by Nichizou Jyonin(1269-1342), the disciple of Nichiren Jyonin, and second head temple of Kyoto Myokenji mission. It had been protected by the Takeda family and also by the Kyogoku family.

The portrait describes Ohashikamon who was the server of Takatsugu Kyogoku. According to the Kyogokukashinbungenchoutsushi, he was given 400 Koku while he was in Obama, then he got given 1030 Koku while in Matsue as he was ranked highly. He was also said to be the developer of the temple. Moreover, according to the Wakasakokusyugodaiki, his ancestor had played to the temple in Enkei 2(1309) which 16 years after the foundation of the temple in Eijin 1(1293). It is considered that he knew the relationship between the temple and his ancestor, thus as soon as he came to Wakasa province, he started developing the temple.

The portrait of Ohashikamon (Upper photograph) is 69.1cm long and 31.7cm wide and was made in Genna 8(1622). It might even describe his polite and clean personality. The portrait of his wife (Lower photograph) is 73.2cm long and 42.5cm wide and there is the notice which tells that she passed away in Genna 4(1618) and this portrait was made by the order of her son to pray. It is presumed to be made same time as the one of Ohashikamon.
