This armour was wron at the Tadakatsu Sakai's first war, the war of Sekigahara, with his father Tadatoshi following Ieyasu Tokugawa. He was 14 years old at that time. There is a word of phoenix on Hitsu.
The headpiece is 16 Kenfukurinsujikabuto and five lined Shikoro, it is a light, strong and simple headpiece.
Iyozanekiritsuki iron plates were used for the body part. There are Fukubekote, Eccyuhaidate and Shinosuneate with those.
It was made for actual use, united block colour only and no decoration, but it is light and easy to move. It doesn't have any swords but it would show the guts of Mikawa Samurai strongly. Even though he played the important role of Tairo in Edo government, it is a simple armour following the spirit of Sakai family as simple and reliable. It is a well-maintained armour even it was the armour for his first use and it is only one which Tadakatsu used kept nowadays.
It had been kept in Obama castle with his father's armour as the thing which Tadakatsu, the origin of Obama Han used.
There are only 5 sets of armour which someone of Sakai family used and
3 sets are kept in Obama city.
