Hiromine shrine
The Hiromine shrine, told to have been donated from Hiromine in Harima province in Teikan 2(860), is located in the forest of Unpin Chigusa and called Tawara shrine, Tennougu or Gionsha. It had been faithful as the local god in Obama castle until the Meiji Restoration. Other shrine, such as Tenman shrine called Ungetsunomiya and had Shorinji (Jinguji, extinct by the Meiji Restoration) were also located in the precincts of the shrine.
This rolling (27.5cm long and 16.8m wide) is an one of the treasure kept in this shrine.
This rolling describes the festival accurately. There was a costume parade with three portable shrines, such as Kasahoko, Boufuri, Oodaiko, Kagura, Hanaguruma and Hikiyama.
The writer is presumed to be Bonemon Tuduki, the second son of Tanomo Tsuduki. It is told that he loved paintings, especially Hokusai's paintings.
The rolling was transferred to Ihei Hasegawa, the merchant. Then, he donated it to Sakai family, and Sakai family sent it to the shrine.
It is a precious drawing which shows the costume parade of Gione.
