This statue has been faithful among local people as the Jizo for easy delivery. It is 86cm in height and made with Hinoki tree and it used to be coloured brilliantly. It has a holy jewel in the left hand and a silver stick in the right hand and the left leg is taken out a little before and it sits down. The face with long eyes makes us feel relieved.

The writing of Zuidenji Honzon Engi was recorded in Jyakusyukannaisyajiyuishoki(in Enpou 3(1675)) and according to it, this temple was founded by the Koresada Kiyohara, The attendant of Tadasue Tsutsumi Uemonjiro, and the main object of worship was Annami( it is said that Kaikei made it). However, recent investigate found the new notice in side the body.

It is now clear that it was made in Shogen 3 and there was a name of the sculptor of this statue, Kousen. It is unknown when he lived, but it is presumed that he was the sculptor belonged to Kei group in Nara. About Koresada Kiyohara, it might have something to do with the name written in Wakasa Onyugun Kenden Choan.
