This picture scroll is the story of Susorinomikoto, an older brother, and Hikohohodeminomikoto, a younger brother. It tells the story of matrimony of Hikohohodeminomikoto and Toyotamahime, a god of sea, and the birth of their son, Ugayafukiaezunomikoto.

In Kanbunonki, there is a description that the original picture scroll of this, two rolls, was moved to Jyakusyumatsunagasyoushinhachimangu and Gosukouin lent it to the emperor and there were many brilliant picture scrolls. Thus, it is presumed that the original picture scroll was written in end of Heian period. Since then, it became three rolls and became to belong to the Myotsuji. When Tadakatsu Sakai, the governor of Wakasa Han, present these rolls, he ordered Taneyasu Kanou to make six rolls and also ordered Katsuoki Adachi to write the narrative. This is the one of copies, but the original doesn't exist any more.

It is said that this is the only one exists, even it is a copy, thus it has a special meaning of Japanese art history. Picture is very colourful, it is the special feature of Kanou group.

All rolls are 32.4cm long and 5076.1cm wide, made with 56 papers. There are decorated with squares and flowers on front page. There is the sign of Taneyasu Fujiwara of Fujiwara University and also the writer's Autograph.
