The Dojikyo mandala is the main god of Dojikyoho, which saves children’s
illness or acts for baby's long life. However, there are various opinions
because mandala has not been written in Gosyodojibarabikyo.
(1) Sendankanbatsubaou
(a guardian deity of Doji, Shihifudo's incarnation)
(2) Fudomyoo
(3) Fudo and Kanbatsubaou both
(4) Bonten and Kanbatubaou both
In usual drawings, there is Kandatubaou sitting in centre, having a holy
jewel in left hand and having a Sangeki piercing 15 demons' heads in right
hand and there are 15 scared demons around Kandatsubaou, these demons are
a cow, a Shishi, a Kumaraten, a Noko, a Bikou, a Ra, two women, a horse,
a dog, a cat, a child, a bird, a pheasant, a fox and a snake.
The drawing, belongs to this temple, is made with silk, 89cm long and
37.5cm wide. There is Kanbatsubaou in centre, having a holy jewel in left
hand and having a Sangeki piercing 15 demons' heads in right hand and there
are 15 scared demons around Kandatsubaou. Above more, there are 15 children
in the drawing. It is considered that it was drawn before Muromachi period.
The drawing technique is also type of Kamakura period.
This type of drawing is extremely rare, and there is only one drawing
kept in Chishuin in Kyoto.
