Wakasahiko shrine
It is the Wakasahiko shrine which Wakasahikojinjya ranked as Wakasa province
42, Onyu area 16,protects Wakasa province. According to Wakasakokuchinsyujinjiekeizu,
this shrine used to have a Myojin Torii in front, Youmon and 4 cloisters
around the main hall.
The main hall facing east was built in Teiwa 2(1802) Sangensyanagaredukuri( Ryoma Sangen, Uchizenshitu Ikken), Hinoki tree skin roofing, wooden made, decoration is Inokosasu style. Pillars have Tabasami without Moyatsunagi. An engraved decoration is Kaerumata and there is Hienuchikoshi in front of Miki, Futanokishigetaruki in back. The rank is 7.
Because there is a big ridge, standard style, curved roof is so beautiful.
Jinmon( the middle gate) was built in Teiwa 3(1803), Kiridumadukuri,
Hinoki tree skin roofing, wooden made, simple 4 pillars gate.
Zuijinmon was made in Kanpo 3(1743), Irimoyadukuri, Hinoki tree skin
roofing, wooden made, 8 pillars gate. It is a rare style that 2 statues
of Zuijin facing each other, total 4 statues in this gate.
There is a wreck of Haiden, Sangenirimoyadukurihirairi, which was collapsed
by snow in Showa 20 between the Zuijinmon and the Jinmon.
