The very rare Kenbutsu in this area are hung at the upper centre part
of the main hall of Myorakuji which owns the statue of one thousand hands
and one thousand eyes. One piece is fan formed seated Yakushisanzou, other
two pieces are round Jyuichimensenjyukannonzazou.
About the fan formed seated Yakusisanzon, it is absolutely rare, made
with copper and there are 6 bones of fan. It is 27 cm long, 35.3 cm wide
and 13 cm long in fan part. The centre Yakushi is a relief and 6.5 cm long
and made politely. There is heaven described at the upper side of the Yakushi
and there are two vases beside Yakushi. Both side of the fan, there is
a sun and a moon, expressing one set of sun, moon and Yakushi. It is written
in back that this was made in the middle stage of Muromachi period.
About the round Jyuichimensenjyukannonzazou, it is made with copper and there is Senjyukannonzou at the centre as a relief. Both are 15 cm long including the lotus stages. These lotus stages are so elaborate and there are other piece of copper used for thousands hands. There are also heavens described at the upper side of the Kannon and there are two vases beside it in both Kenbutsu. However there are some differences such as background, one is ring and another is fire, one is 33 cm and another is 30.5 cm. There are writings both at back side, one is, February 12th in 1343, but another is not able to read. Both are considered to be made at same time and presumed to be made in the period of South and North Dynasties.
