It is the wooden statue of Fudomyoo which stands beside the wooden seated
statue of Dainichinyorai, on the middle of Suya stage in Dainichido and
it is also the National Cultural Property.
This statue is 158.7 cm of height, one head two hands. It stands on a
stone having a sacred sword in right hand and Kensaku in left hand.
It is presumed to be made in 12th century at the end of Heian period,
because it shows a posture with a motion, for example, facing at right
down, stepping toward on a left foot, curly hair and narrow eyes, to compare
with a normal Myoo facing forward.
Rather wide, but the waist, and well-dressed form seems to be fully empowered
and shows the superior works of moulding, especially the engraving of the
clothes is simple but accurate.
